PTFE Tubes

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic fluoropolymer of tetrafluoroethylene. Being hydrophobic, non-wetting, high density and resistant to high temperatures, PTFE is an incredibly versatile material with a wide variety of applications.

PTFE offers:-

  • Hydraulically smooth
  • Outstanding thermal stability
  • Excellent resistance to both chemical & solvent attack
  • Low co-efficient of friction thus high anti-stick properties
  • Good weatherability
  • Flame resistant

Caledonian Industries

PTFE retains useful properties (i.e. not more than 15% loss of chemical resistance) at up to 200oC and sometimes beyond depending upon the application. In fact, it has the highest retention of its chemical properties of any known plastic like material. The ability to resist an electrical charge is measured by surface and volume resistivity. In the case of PTFE these figures are colossal. Depending upon how the test work is performed, values in excess of 1017Ω cm are considered minimum.

We supply a range of PTFE finished parts to Oil and Gas companies worldwide. Our production team ensures that all its products meet the highest quality standards to ensure maximum safety and reliability, helping to ensure the smooth operation of Oil and Gas drilling operations.
